Dear Birthmother, Hello!
We are Bill and Cheryl Veselik and we live in Marion, a small town in
Southwest Virginia. We cannot imagine how difficult your situation is or how hard it will be for you to make the decision you are facing, but we very much appreciate your willingness to consider an open adoption plan |

for your baby.
We believe such a plan will create the perfect environment in which your
child can grow and thrive in a home that is filled with love and support
while still maintaining a vital connection between you and your child. We respectfully ask that you take a moment to consider us as you make your decision regarding an open adoption plan. We warmly invite you to join our family to the extent that you feel comfortable, and we would be happy to share with you the many milestones of your child's life through letters, photos, and even videos, regardless of any other regular visits we may be able to arrange. You'll always know that your child is safe and happy, and most of all, loved. |

On our first date, we saw the Monkees in concert during their 20th anniversary reunion tour. Bill asked Cheryl to marry him five months later and after a one-year engagement we were married. We spent our honeymoon in Jamaica. That was more than 17 wonderful years ago. We have a very strong relationship that is based on the genuine love we share and the trust we have both given and earned over the years. We always stand by one another and we value and respect each other's opinions. We both like to laugh, although Bill is the one who tells most of the jokes (usually bad ones) and Cheryl is the one who good-naturedly rolls her eyes when the the jokes are really bad and tells him to be sure and keep his day job. |

We
can't wait to take family trips with our child to amusement parks and
historical sites, as well as on visits with family and friends from Virginia to
Florida. We'll also take long walks through the woods and around the lake at
our own local state park. We'll go for ice cream cones on warm summer nights
and smile as our child races to eat the melting treat before it drips all over
the car. Cheryl can often be found creating cross-stitched masterpieces and
looks forward to teaching our child some needle art skills. Bill has been known
to pluck the guitar on occasion and he wants to teach some Jimmy Buffett songs
to our child. We both enjoy books and we plan to read to our child regularly,
especially at bedtime! Cheryl is fond of Winnie the Pooh stories, while Bill
favors selections from "The Hobbit." From tossing a ball in the backyard to
holding a tea party indoors on a rainy day, we will always make time to learn
and play with our child. |

We
live in the small town of Marion, Virginia. Our house is located on a shady
tree-lined street in the town's historical district. We have a large backyard
and our child will have his or her own room, which looks out on the side yard
where squirrels and birds come to feed each day. Our neighbor-hood is very safe
and quiet and there are plenty of play-mates nearby. It's the kind of
neighborhood where you could practically leave your front door unlocked and go
away for the weekend without worrying about it. |

Education
is important to us and we know how crucial a good education is for a successful
future. We will ensure that our child receives the best education possible,
including college. In fact, Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Professional Communication and Technical Writing and Bill earned his Bachelor of
Arts degree in History. Cheryl is employed as the Human Resource Assistant to
the Director of Human Resources at a local mental health facility. Bill is
Public Relations Coordinator at a local Virginia community college and is an
adjunct instructor there. As Virginia state employees, we are home every
afternoon and we both enjoy liberal leave benefits that will allow us the
flexibility of taking time off to attend doctor appointments for our baby and to
enjoy events like soccer games, plays, recitals, and other activities in which
our child is involved. |

Our
parents, brothers, sisters, friends, and neighbors are all excited and very
supportive of our efforts to adopt a child. Cheryl's mother lives in Orlando,
Florida, so visits to her will no doubt include a trip to Disney World. Bill's
parents live about 30 miles away and we manage weekly visits to see them and all
the family shows up for a big meal on special occasions.
